His salary is already priced in for this season and the jet sweep fakes do get the D to adjust a bit which open up lanes both the running and passing games. That said, if a trade frees up cap space it could be used to resign other players. Tavon's base salary is 3.5 million so a trade next week would save about 2.7 million. He also has a roster bonus of around 11.5 million. I am not sure if that has already been paid or not. If it is already paid, then trading Tavon saves the rams about 2.7 this year and 8 million next year. However cutting Tavon in the first two days of the 2018 season also saves the team the 8 million so a trade is not needed to get the 2018 savings. If Tavon's roster bonus is already charged to the rams, I think the rams likely will keep him and take the benefit of a jet sweep fake (and actual jet sweep ever now and then) over cutting the lowest person at a different position.
