Seriously ... I get what you're saying ... but my point was that there are some head coach / QBs who are thrown together by chance and circumstance. Like Aikman and Johnson. Yeah ... Johnson technically drafted Aikman ... but that was more Jerry Jones. That same year, Johnson used a supplemental No. 1 on Steve Walsh. It wasn't until after they'd had some time together that Johnson and Aikman began to operate in that synergistic style that became the norm.
Same for Allen and Gabriel.
Montana was actually drafted by Walsh.
So, that was my point. Goff was not McVay's 'guy' ... in terms of being hand-picked by him.
