I had similar thoughts during the off season. I was amazed that the Rams kept giving Fisher chances when it was so obvious that he was the problem. I was thrilled that they hired McVay. I was initially hopeful that he would get the most out of Goff, but I was concerned that that might not be good enough after his dismal performance in the third preseason game. In that game and last year, it seemed that Goff lacked the accuracy that is required in order to be a good NFL QB. I have reverted back to a cautiously optimistic point of view after seeing Goff make some nice throws against the Colts. There were a few errant passes mixed in, but it was an excellent game overall. The new coaching staff and the well-chosen free agents and rookies seem to be working. If so, there is no reason this team can't win 10 games. Some have expressed concerns about Gurley. I thought he looked much better against the Colts than he did last season and that his numbers in the opening game were misleading. I was never a fan of Gregg Williams. I believe the Rams got just as much of an upgrade in their defensive coaching staff as they did on the offensive side, and this showed against the Colts.
