Very true. The great thing about being a fan is that any year can be THE year. '99 was one of the most unlikely surprises in NFL history. A 28 year old grocery store nagger becomes rookie of the year and MVP while winning the SB? Crazy! Yet, it happened.
I've been a Mets fan since they started and that '69 Amazing Mets team was the single most shocking World Series winners of all time. The US hockey team getting the gold medal. The Cubs winning for the first time in 108 years.
This is the best time of the year. There's every reason for hope. We have a lot of young talent. If they blossom we can beat anyone including the Cheatriots. We really can. We could also be horrendous. We could be anything in between.
Arguing vehemently as to what will happen seems absurd, but that's indeed how much of the posters spend their time. There's also posters who look beyond these 16 games and are already worrying about our draft picks for next year. I can't wrap my head around that one. Sunday should be a good game. My worry is that many starters were held out of PS games. I get trying to stay healthy but with so many new parts and two new systems to learn it scares me. We could start slowly out if the gate and it sometimes is hard to catch up. There's only 16 games so starting 1-0 is a big difference from 0-1. Anyway, good take.
