All throughout college Tavon would at times line up in the backfield and run between the Tackles.
He's done it for Fisher as well and rarely (can't really even think of once) is stopped for a loss.
He's about the same size as Dunbar.
I have always thought that he should be our "change of pace" RB. Maybe 8 or so carries in a game. He likes running as a RB.
He can't be our 3rd down back because he's not good enough or physical enough to pass block.
However, that doesn't mean he can't be used on 3rd down. Just not the traditional NFL profile of what a 3rd down back is.
I have a hunch we'll see Tavon do that under McVay, just not until the 3rd or 4th game, likely, because of all the time he's missed.
I suspect we'll see Tavon mainly doing PR duty against the Colts, with perhaps a handful of offensive plays.
