It is pretty clear to me that depth chart wise, Cooper and Reynolds are both ahead of Spruce.
So I expect especially Cooper to get most of Kupp's reps.
But I think it also opens things up a bit for Watkins. Clearly Watkins and Kupp and Woods are going to be Goff's primary WR targets to begin the year; with TE Higbee being next. After missing nearly all of the OTAs and Training Camp due to injury, it'll take a couple of weeks to figure out Austin's role in the offense, but provided he's fully healthy, he'll at least return punts.
There is no reason to give anything but 2nd/3rd team reps to Thomas because he won't even be available until November.
Spruce? Going to take a couple of serious injuries for him to make it. I like him; but the other guys are better. That just speaks to how much better our 2017 WR corps compared to last year.
BTW: The thought by some that the Rams keep 7 WRs is just not realistic. 5 is the norm, 6 is a lot. I do expect the Rams to keep 6 however because there's no way that the Rams could get Reynolds (for instance) through waivers and on to the PS. And barring anymore preseason injuries, those 6 are going to be Watson, Woods, Austin, Kupp, Cooper and Reynolds. And on most game days I expect all but Reynolds to be activated....at least to start the year. For one reason, Reynolds doesn't play STs but Cooper is almost certainly our KR.
I also think the Rams will suit up 3 TEs on game day. So they'll have to keep WRs to 5 on game day, at most.
