The names change, the results stay the same.

That's why it's been a demonstrably horrible FO. Maybe McVay is helping to rectify that and repair all the damage that's been done over the years that was largely cheered on here on an annual basis, but we won't know that until they start playing games.

I think we've had this conversation before. Your bolded statement suggests that maybe it is possible that with the addition of McVay and subtraction of Fisher, there is a whole new brain trust?

The decisions that are made, how aggressive they are or aren't, the types of players that are targeted in the draft and free agency, etc. should all be different now that Fisher is gone.

I think it's possible they're on a better track. I hope so. I like McVay but I'm not blind to his potential downside. I think it's unlikely that transformation is made this year, as it seems many here are expecting. I think the moves collectively have been "better" than they were in the past. Mostly the free agent signings and decisions to cut loose players that didn't fit or just weren't very good. But there are still some recognizable issues on the draft and trade front that concern me.

Look at all the draft capital Snead has expended on two players now that are exceptionally high risk with Goff and Watkins. A lot of people seem to love it because it's high rolling, but it's not sound decision making. McVay is going to have to be almost flawless, not to mention pretty lucky, to deliver the level of improvement people here appear to think is coming their way.

Sorry, 9er, but what in your opinion constitutes "sound decision making"? Doomsaying is also an annual event here. "Realist" abound. I think a lot of people see hope because they see a FO, Coach and Staff that are putting some good moves together. "Good moves" being a matter of opinion, yes, but swinging at the ball is better than being struck out looking. Moving into the season again hoping Grob was going to figure it out, wishing Tavon would finally be the #1 receiver he was drafted to be are past moves that fit that description. This FO is trying. Will it work out? Is it a definitive? I don't think anyone has made that statement. But people like that there appears to be a "try" now in getting it done. At least one that makes sense to the layman. I don't see anyone predicting SuperBowl. I do see people being fans again and getting excited. If you chose not to, that's your right, as is posting that opinion. You get no hate from me. But while I have and do consider the potential downside to many of the moves the Rams make, I'm seeing a lot more light at the end of the tunnel than I did this time last year.
