While I agree with ZNs premise that the Fish's first game losses are a matter of perception, the limp play was not. As stated, the Rams didn't "play tough" in many of those games. Even the ones we did win were kind of like the three win streak we took after the loss last year. Ya, we won, but there wasn't a lot of people convinced in our play. The team didn't look convinced in their play.
Wins and losses are important (Cpt Obvious). But what I want to see is the culture change. I want to see a team forming. I want to see a QB leading. I want to see a defense that is disciplined. I want to see smart play. If we lose to the better team, but exhibit this, then I'll be happy because that'll make me believe we have something forming that is the basis for continued success. I don't think we have all of the ponies to make it all happen this year. But I want to see Coach use the ones he has and make some noise with them this year. I want to see him forming an identity to this team. After years of excuses to why we couldn't do this, we were the youngest team, new coordinators, new QBs, etc, I want to see a leader that doesn't give excuses. I want to see one that drives his team forward. If we can get that out of this season, it'll count more than the record for me.
