...Kromer obviously saw something that made him think Hav would be better at OG than OT and Brown better at OT than OG. But all that is theory. Playing against competition is where you find out.
If you look at Hav's feet, fundamentals, and balance, it's clear why Kromer would want him at OG. There's been a question since he was drafted of whether he had the feet to play OT.
And if you look at Kromer's history, he prefers the better player at guard.
...
Sure. But at this point, it's not established that Hav is the better player. So that statement says nothing.
Just to note a minor opinion difference. I actually do think he is the better player. He's the only one from the class of 2015 who has been a consistent starter. He was banged up last year but still started. My feeling was that IF (big if) they are switching Brown and Hav back, it's because Brown can't handle tackle.
Having said that I am not all that convinced they are switching them.
So I will coin a new phrase:
"we'll see." It means we have to see how events proceed before making any strong determinations. Feel free to use it as a phrase any time you want. You don't even have to credit me with inventing it.
....
FWIW, it's my opinion that Hav is the better player too albeit only slightly better.
However, my point was, we don't KNOW if Kromer holds the same opinion.
We've heard rave reviews that the current coaches love Brown and whispers from the former staff that they thought Brown could be a pro bowl player. I've heard less positive things from both coaching staff on Hav.
So by established I meant that no one really knows who Kromer feels is the best player between the two. As you say, we'll see.
