HOW the Rams and McVay plan to attack defenses this year.
My point?
We were all bored to tears watching Fishers offense...3 runs for minus yardage followed by a fake, flawed punt.
So "I" expect McVay to want to attack defenses further down field while certainly mixing in the run which is going to put a lot of emphasis on Goff.
My point?
Fisher had some of his biggest wins vs Seattle in VERY tight and very low scoring games. It was a good recipe vs Seattle to play it safe and close to the vest.
Will McVay understand how to play in THIS division? Early game mistakes vs Seattle and/or Arizona will put too much pressure on this young offense but boring, "same ol same ol" offensive strategy ain't gonna fly either in LA.
So I think predicting a record at this point in time is very tricky. If Goff comes out guns blazing .500 could happen. If he starts games off with turn overs all bets are off.
One thing is for sure, week one home vs a bad Indy team that will either be without (likely) Luck or a compromised Luck is as close to a lay up as they come and a MUST WIN for the Rams.
I'll tell you how.... mismatches.
McVay is very good at creating them and making it easy for the QB to identify them... hopefully our new pass catchers are as good as advertised so far and Goff can take a big step forward....having some help from the big guys up front should help with that.
