Though not hugely popular, in his last years, in light of what happened at PSU, he was RIGHT ON THE MONEY when he said bring back small face masks or even NO face masks, watch players break a few beaks and see how quick the head injuries subside.

IMO, there is ZERO coincidence that head injuries and brain damage increased as helmets got "safer" (At least to exterior pain) and it became hip (See ESPNs "Jacked Up"winking smiley to go for the knockout blow, instead of PURE tackling.
