An obvious fact here is that the Rams OFFERED to extend Donald, essentially with the Rams relinquishing their leverage and saying let's come to the negotiating table as equals with figure out an amount. Once the Rams made the offer to extend Donald they cannot use this "leverage" bs. that would be an absolute d*&$ move.
Exactly my point. Why even do it? Why start negotiations? Did they not learn from Quinn? Just pay the man if he is still playing at a high level in 2 or 3 years. You have control for at least 4.
That genie is already out of the bottle. I don't believe that the best way to build a team is to acknowledge Donald is overpaid and then tell him the team controls him for the next four years.
