Real Champagne has to come from the Champagne region of France, other wise it's faux Champagen
The reason it's so expensive is because the region is small and they can't make enough to fulfill demand.
I don't know of any major vineyard that produces alcohol free champagne. Why would they? They can't charge as much and they can't satisfy demand anyway.
The problem is even though almost all of the rest of the world accept that to call it Champagne it has to come from Champagne in the same was as Chablis has to come from Chablis and Port has to come from Oporto etc., the US doesn't care and is outside the EU jurisdiction.
I can remember going to a wine tasting here a few years ago and being pumped that they had Chablis to taste.
Until I tasted it. It was disgusting.
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
