Just noting one thing. IMO the new OL is untested but it is not patchworked.
Patchwork implies things I don't think apply in this case.
It is newly put together as a unit. But that's not rare in the NFL. I read research once that shows in the era of the cap and free agency, since teams cannot stock OL depth the way they could before, the average turnover on NFL OLs is 3.5 players every 2 years. Teams are always changing their OLs from year to year.
I personally think the term "patchwork" applies to lines that have been re-hobbled together after injuries. Like in 2007 when they were signing guys off the street during the season because the injuries were coming so thick.
This group looks set and will practice together, barring some kind of surprise change of plan, all the way through camp to week 1.
It remains to be seen how good a line it will be, which may be all you meant.
