I can't challenge what you say. The situation certainly sucked for StL.
Yet, ... it's different.
Here in MN, Vikings owners went to state and local governments over and over and over, begging for money while threatening to leave. In the end they got their wish and the state ponied up for the new dome.
Stan never asked for money, lobbied for it, or tied leaving to whether the state gave him money. He didn't TAKE any money. He didn't ask for money in SoCal. He did it on his own dime.
Now, he absolutely did not treat StL well. But ... he never asked them for tax money. That is different.
