Here are some specific examples.
Sully and Whit may indeed turn out to be good signings, but they're both old. How can you possibly know yet whether they're "better than I thought"?
Let's see if they can last through training camp, PS, and at least part of the season before we proclaim them good signings. Sullivan's back really hasn't been tested yet. You know that. But you write as if that concern has now been dismissed.
You say WR's "looking strong", "what a turnaround". Again, how do we know that yet? It's just a group in whom we've invested a lot of hope.
There haven't been any games yet so there can't be any turnaround!
I can't love McVay's coaches until I see their product in a string of real NFL games.
It's not that you're optimistic. It's that you assume so much that just isn't there yet.
I just realized what it is. It's unhatched chicken-counting. I was always taught not to do that.
