A lot of short and option routes off the line as a safety blanket for Goff. His size and catch radius are definitely mismatches when you need a few yards or are in the redzone. Also, while he isn't going to win a lot of foot races with DBs he is pretty athletic for how big he is and will be able to hurt defenses. I think McVay is going to get the most from him, and depending on how well he gets the other pieces going Higbee might be that guy who really benefits.
My only real concern with him is whether he can avoid getting dinged up when he's in there blocking, which he will need to do when he's on the field with Everett. That was his problem with the Hilltoppers, staying healthy.
