Coaching staff will improve fundamentals.
Maybe his route running will improve because teams run more than 6 plays next year and there is the possibility that the types of routes you are describing are actually done in the game. Since they are done in the game more than on just an exception basis, they will be practiced.
And the coaches may work on his technique, timing, breakout, when to burst, getting his hands out, etc.
and maybe he gets better.
The Rams WRs were not the best athletes during the Martz era, but they were the best prepared, the best skills, ran the best routes, etc. This guy has some similar characteristics that Martz had where he gets more out of players.
