Rams43
He may be a rookie, but he's also probably the best prepared rookie WR to enter the league. Not just on the Rams, but in the league.
McVay described a conversation with him as being similar to one with a WR coach. And his game prep is legendary.
A WR that gets separation with flypaper hands can play on my team any old time.
I predict a great rookie season for Kupp. I also predict that he will quickly become a Goff (and crowd) favorite.
McVay will NOT be able to keep this kid on the bench. He is surely one of the best 3 WR's on this team.
Woods
Kupp
Reynolds
Notice a name that is conspicuously absent? Lol.
Just telling it like it is...
With all due respect the name is absent because you have strong feelings against the guy. His name being absent on your list doesn't make it reality.
Reality is, Austin has more production in yards and TDs than any WR on the Rams including Woods. And that is with him being in a Fisher offense who we both believe didn't know offense if it slapped him in the face. If we all think McVay is a much better offensive mind with a better scheme, why wouldn't that benefit TA too like everyone else?
On Kupp, I'm not sleeping on him. I'll think he'll be a good WR. I'm impressed with his hands, his route running, and how McVay has talked him up. But even a good rookie is still a rookie. I doubt he gets anywhere close to TA's 2015 production.
And forgive me for pointing this out 43, but every year you get excited about the newest shiny toy. Last year you absolutely insisted that that the new rookie TE - whoever he may be - would be more productive than Cook. I told you that a rookie replacing 500 yards isn't automatic. We know how that turned out.
I think we have more of the same going on here.
Perhaps you're right, dz. You very often are.
I do tend to be optimistic about our draft picks. Guilty as charged.
But with McVay replacing Fisher this year, can you blame me?
Tavon has had his 4 year test drive and where is the progression?
Honestly, I think he's at BEST the 4th WR on this roster now. Don't see how he keeps either Kupp or Reynolds on the bench, frankly.
We'll revisit the Tavon pecking order later this summer and by opening day, okay? Hope I'm wrong about Tavon. I really do. But I don't think I am.
I will happily post a sincere apology if Tavon blossoms under the guidance of the new coaching staff. But if he doesn't, will you return the favor?
I don't want to take your optimism 43. I really appreciate it. I'm pretty optimistic about our draft picks myself and hope you are right on them.
I hope you're wrong about TA. I gotta say, when you turn on a guy, you turn hard. Lol...
I don't have the answer to your question about progression. Part of the problem is that his good year was in 2015 and not last year. I think you'd be more excited about him if he had 1000 yds/10 TDs last year and if his salary was lower.
For me, it doesn't matter which year it was or what he is paid this year. Neither of those things will affect this year's production.
2015 shows us what he is capable of and he did that in a Fisher offense. I'm hoping McVay is the key that unlocks Tavon to have that type of production and more every year.
I have to admit I'm operating with hope and optimism with Tavon kind of like you are with the new draftees. If I'm wrong so be it....
And you know I'm good for a sincere apology if I miss it. Wouldn't be the first time.... I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.
