Enjoyed that. A coupla points.

I thought it was pretty good when one announcer said bluntly that he was totally down on Goff. The other said the opposite. And they tried to get Les to respond, and he would not defend the Goff pick or say there's things you don't know......blah, blah, blah... ala Fisher.

Good. I like that. The pick was made. The kid was not ready last year. And there was NO speculation from Snead about the future for Goff except to make it pretty clear that QB was not on their list for the draft. Goff doesn't need to hear how great he is or have excuses made. He needs to feel the heat and give it everything he has. Same for Gurley. In fact, I hope the Rams use a 5th or later on a RB just to make the point that either Gurley gets with it or he might be sharing way more reps than he wants to. Fisher giving him the star treatment last year was a stupid move. I'd love to see them pick up Perine.

Les did talk about the enormous importance of having 3 experienced guys who were highly successful at developing QBs and creating hi octane offenses, with one as their HC. Clearly Snead envisions a high scoring, pedal to the metal offense. No more patty cake, don't the let the offense lose the game mentality that made me come to just detest Fisher (as a HC, not as a man).

He said with emphasis that offense was the #1 priority, and that they need some explosive offensive playmakers. And that they could be either TEs or WRs. And that in his opinion the D was already playoff caliber.

I think that is as close to divulging where they're going in the draft as it's going to get; and frankly, I would be shocked if they picked a D player prior to the 4th round.

But, as he said, if some guy was there at 37 who was in their eyes a great player, but not at a position of need, they would very likely take him. Or be open to trade down. I think deep down what Snead ideally wants is to have that explosive offensive playmaker there at 37, and in some ways hopes there is NOT a "great" D player sitting there, that muddies the waters. I still think the pick is Engram if he's there. He is the definition of explosive playmaker and it is at a position that causes D's a lot of headaches. But I think that Engram gets taken in round 1.

I suspect if Engram is gone, the Rams will go Zay Jones at 37. And Pocic in the 3rd, or Elflein if he's gone because either can play Center or Guard.
