That's a pretty ungenerous way to put it. For GRob a move to RG would be a move from left to right AND from outside to inside. For Havenstein it's a move to his left, outside to inside. You can reduce that to "he doesn't have the brains" for it, if you like... But for a kid who's struggled, and whom they hope to "rescue," sounds like a reasonable move regardless of their respective "brain" power to me.
