It doesn't make sense for the player. He will not have market control. Knowing where you will play is irrelevant in the NFL. guaranteed money and the first year counts. He's got his home in place and 17 million guaranteed. He can be a fa next year and get another guaranteed 17.

nothing. That is exactly why it makes since for these tag guys to sign the long term contract and actually guarantee themselves more money.....
One torn ACL and he could be done.
Next year is never a guarantee for any NFL player.
nothing is guaranteed anywhere except that 17 million. There is no such thing as a multi year contract.
