"The cap is crap"

March 02, 2017 08:44AM
One of my favorite sayings by a local Boston radio host.. And it's totally true. The cap is so manipulative and it goes up 7-8% every year.

All those guys are year to year. Yes some bad contracts (Austin) but pretty much any of them can be jettisoned after 2017. Between Johnson, Austin and Barron alone that's $32M.

Still hard to know if or how Barron can fit. With him it's just about fit, not that he isn't a quality player. Austin has to prove it or he's gone. Robinson's 5th year option won't be picked up so at worst they're out from under him after 2017.

I would release Sims before the others. $3.2M for a 4th DE is too much.

And as someone else posted in 2018 they will need to have room for Donald's extension which they easily will.
