Wow.
I would have sworn that DB was going to be the best position group hands down ... but I am going to have to hold that as this was the best TE group I've ever seen, even with Plinke there (which was likely because no one had seen him anywhere else, not necessarily because he was better than some other draftables I have like Josiah Price and McNamara and Smythe ...
First ... the athleticism made Njoku look just "above average" ... when he was supposed to put on a crazy show.
Note: I watched them block too ... and definitely some guys need work there.
What I did like was that all the HB types performed with amazing quality. Hands, movement skills, fluidity, and flat out speed. If you were to tell me that guys like Everett, Jonnu Smith, Kittle, etc. all got drafted in the 2nd and 3rd, I'd be fine with it. But in the overall class it looks like guys that will slip to the 5th at least.
Big standouts physically
Howard all day
Hodges showed MUCH better than I thought. Kid's a WR at 6-6 257 but he is a weapon, period.
Engram looked like a first rounder ... I doubt he gets to 37.
Kittle changed his draft stock completely.
Shaheen is the biggest smooth TE I have ever seen ... except maybe Gronk. Maybe the best gauntlet by a TE ever.
Leggett looked smooth in drills ... but didn't run. My guess is he drops to 69. I'll keep mocking him there. If he doesn't ... Hodges will.
Best gauntlet for TEs too. Saubert looked great there.
Honestly I don't know how any team could skip drafting the position in good conscience.
