That's your wheelhouse and you put in the hours. Besides, your track record speaks for itself.
However, from a strategic pov, the Rams seem to me more likely to go in one of 3 different directions rather than TE with their 2nd round pick at #37 overall. And a trade up given their needs and the lack of a 1st rounder make any trade up seem extremely unlikely, I would think. A trade down would surprise me less than a trade up, tbh.
Given the reported strength of this draft and perceived Ram needs, I predict one of the following positions (in any order) with their 2nd rounder:
DE
WR
CB
LB (Wade might want one for his new D concepts. This one might be a 3rd or a 4th, though)
Just depends on who falls into their laps.
In fact, I will go so far as to predict that 3 of these above 4 positions will be taken by round 4. The draft strengths and Ram needs match up well this year.
Unless, somehow, the Rams see this kid as a transcendent talent ala Aaron Donald. McVay loves TE's, to be sure, but I predict that he sees potential in Kendricks and Higbee, if developed and used properly. TE seems to be just too far down the need list, imo. Several other (and much bigger) fish to fry.
