He can't even throw a 10 yard pass without getting sacked.
The question...how come CK could throw them while getting sacked less often?
Percentage of CK's attempts thrown 31 yards or more: 5.6%
(fairly high by league standards)CK's general sack percentage: 6.7%
Percentage of Goff's attempts thrown 31 yards or more: 3.2%
(fairly low by league standards)Goff's general sack percentage:11.3%
(which is really bad)That's with the same OL.
I think that a lot of Goff's issues with protection went to him not knowing as much about protection calls and pre-snap reads as the veteran CK.
Given all that it's nice to hear what Oakland's Carr said about Goff's new qb coach, Greg Olson:

“Coach Olson taught me so much about protections,” Carr said. “We were one of the top two or three most-pressured teams in the NFL while still being one or two in least amount of sacks. His big deal is eliminating hits on the quarterback." ... “Being under coach Olson and learning from him, I’ll have a protection plan for the rest of my life,” Carr said. “Just spending that one year with him. There won’t be a look or a pressure that I’ll see where I have no clue what to do. I’ll know exactly how I want to pick it up and exactly how to pick it up, because of how he taught me and what he taught me.”
