I think the OL just got plain worse as the season went on. By the final 5-6 games there were just jail breaks left and right. Maybe part of that was protections. But most of it I put on the OL. And maybe some of them tanked late in the year. But against NE, SEA, ATL etc. Goff just never had a prayer back there.
I thought during the first half of the season with Keenum they pass protected reasonably well while the run blocking was what was abysmal.
I put a lot of that on the qb.
I think it's no accident that the protections broke down more with a rookie qb than with a veteran qb.
I also think it's no accident that McVay went after Olson as the qb coach, given Olson's rep for improving the qb's ability to see and respond to protection issues
