McDaniels was a disaster waiting to happen and an unlikable character to boot.
Shanahan was rejected by Denver and Elways which was a major red flag.
McVay is just.....young. But he does seem to have all the other qualities you'd want.
Already with McVay and Phillips you can see that this coaching staff is at least not going to be the collection of cement heads that dominated the coaching staff the last several years. That alone is a big win in my book. I don't know that they'll win a lot more soon, but the IQ and professionalism is increasing significantly.
McVay is a high risk-high reward choice for sure. But at least he'll be easy to pull far and he's assembling a staff so far that will be too. All we can do is hope Demoff, in his quest to solidfy and enhance his position in the organization, accidentally hit a home-run on the coach in the process.
