Not sure if Phillips is a fit with the Rams, listening to LA radio and all they seem to be harping on (besides him being a good young offensive mind) is how young he is. Now I am not an ageist or anything but I fear going for the buzz worthy thing "look how young he is, for the LA market". I don't care if we hire 70 year old Quasimodo IF he is the best coach but worrying about this LA image thing. Same thing I look in hindsight about the QB selection. It felt/feels like, "Let's go for the more handsome California boy QB to be the "face of the franchise" instead of selecting the best QB for the team to get wins". Worrying about the wrong thing is my fear, I am way more interested in the innovative offensive mind part instead of him being 30 years old part because that part I could care less about.
