He's now had two go-rounds with the Rams and both times went from a love to hate thing. But he's always been the same quality coach, so it doesn't make sense.
I personally think the O-line play is more about talent than coaching. Boudreau has proven himself to at least be a competent OL coach in the league. They've drafted poorly and added free agents poorly. And for Gurley, I think that's mostly about him being on team Gurley all year rather than the Rams. It's the culture Fisher carved out for him from the outset. "30" was a superstar. "30" got preferential treatment. Nobody dared touch "30." He didn't show up prepared this year and he treated like royalty as directed by Fisher anyway. What Brown is basically saying there is he never bothered to really get his nose in the playbook. He also apparently didn't bother taking care of himself physically. Not a good combination, but hard to lay that at Boudreau's feet.
