Sean Payton is a hard sell to me. Even if we can get him for cash with no pick compensation.
Kroenke has oodles of cash, but we're strapped for premium picks this year.
So yeah, pick compensation would be a deal breaker for me.
TBH, I'm not that thrilled with Payton as our HC, anyway. Strikes me as a gifted O mind, but has struggled to get results from his various high profile DC hires, with the sole exception of GW that one year, ironically. And now they hate each other's guts. Lol.
Haven't we learned our lesson regarding the problems inherent in a one dimensional HC?
Too many other talented candidate options out there that won't require pick compensation, don't you think?
I will say this. Rams shouldn't drag their feet while pursuing HC candidates. Don't want the fans to think that we ultimately had to "settle" because a Denver type team quickly pounced on "our guy". The musical chair thing?
One last thing. What would be so wrong about hiring a knowledgeable GM first? Then letting HIM hire the HC? Sigh...
Unless...
They've already decided to keep Snead? And that's not been what the rumor mill has been spitting out, is it?
