I preferred keeping Johnson to Jenkins. Not that I didn't like him but his inconsistency for 4 years was maddening. And the fact is Johnson graded out as the more consistent CB by a pretty good margin. Jenkins had a very good year. Good for him.
He signed essentially a three-year, $40.0M deal (they can let him go pretty painlessly after that). His cap # the next two years escalates to $15M and $13M. Maybe he'll be worth that, we'll see. In the meantime we get the 99th or 100th pick in the Draft next April for him.
I'd have paid McLeod, personally (who gets $19M in the first 3 years of his deal). Of course I also am pleased with what Alexander has become.
