Mike Shanahan would take on Demoff's role.
So you'd have Kyle Shanahan as HC and then Mike would pick the GM. Not sure what's so confusing about that?!
I like Kyle Shanahan and Mike would pick the next GM, not Demoff.
They could do better, but they could do much worse. I don't think it's a terrible idea. At least something to consider.

Tom Pelissero ✔ @TomPelissero My understanding on Les Snead's fate: #Rams don't want to limit selves in coaching search. If their target wants new GM, they're open to it. 10:53 AM - 17 Dec 2016
Kyle Shanahan is interested in the Rams job and wants to bring his father with him.........drum roll.............
As President of football Operations. That sounds like to me that The Rams would hire Kyle first as their new head coach and in turn Kyle would hire his dad. No?
Sounds like a package deal to me. And I would pretty much think Snead would be a goner in this case and we'd have a new GM selected by Mike.
Sounds to me like the Rams would be after Kyle first and foremost and Kyle would like to bring his dad with him. Without Kyle, they have zero interest in Mike.
Even if this were to happen, I`m sure Mike would be heavily involved in GM duties and personnel moves even if he hired a GM.
I guess at the end of the day a combo of Mike Shanahan, Kyle Shanahan and their new GM they knew and were comfortable with couldn't be any worse than the collaborative effort of Kevin Demoff, Les Snead and Jeff Fisher (Who had final say on all personnel moves). At least with the new scenario, there is no one that was given full control, your head coach would see eye to eye with his GM and head of football operations, and the bean counter goes back to counting beans and away from where he shouldn't be.
I still feel it would be ridiculous to hire a young OC as your new head coach and give him that much control that he can hire his own GM and/or Head of Football Operations. Hire the head of football operations first and then hire your head coach. Kyle Shanahan wont get that kind of power from any team he may interview for.
