Tom Pelissero ✔ @TomPelissero My understanding on Les Snead's fate: #Rams don't want to limit selves in coaching search. If their target wants new GM, they're open to it. 10:53 AM - 17 Dec 2016
Kyle Shanahan is interested in the Rams job and wants to bring his father with him.........drum roll.............
As President of football Operations.
The possibilities man, the possibilities!!
Thanks for the info, but the idea of the Rams hiring a guy like Kyle Shanahan as their new head coach and letting him hire his own GM, is freaking nuts. What has he really accomplished to earn that right? I would hope that also doesn't mean that they would give him the Jeff Fisher full control thing on top of it.
As much as I like Gruden, the one reason why I wouldn't want to see the Rams hiring him is because they would have no choice to give him the full control Jeff Fisher deal. I think it could be a recipe for disaster.
At this point if Chris Petersen isn't an option, I really think I would be leaning to hiring a GM/Exec and then hire a young gun like a Kyle Shanahan that you wouldn't demand full control. Unfortunately it seems that Demoff/Kroenke/Snead is going to hire a head coach first.
I`m trying to be optimistic, but why is Demoff still the one most heavily involved in hiring their new head coach again? Its crazy.
Demoff WANTS Snead back and if a young guy like Shanahan, who IMO wont be able to demand a new GM or full control, will get along just fine with Snead and Snead will remain the Rams GM. Demoff is crafty with the media.
Would you be ok with a guy like Shanahan hiring his own GM? Whether it were his dad or anyone else..
