The issue isn't whether Goff should have gone #1 or not, the issue is whether a good HC candidate wouldn't want to come to LA cause he thought Goff wasn't worth it.
Ask yourself if Wentz went #1 how far down Goff would have dropped? All those teams that needed a QB, do you actually think they would have passed on Goff to take another QB?
I call BS on that. Goff was going in the first round for sure and he was going in the top 10 almost certainly.
He is getting the bust treatment for 3 reasons. He went #1 overall and was obviously overdrafted, he went into a total mess of an offense with garbage coaching, and our instant gratification society. That doesn't mean he can't be a very good QB, it mostly means everybody wants to sound like they are the smartest guy in the room and loves to pile on.
Can we please get a coach in here who knows what he's doing before we bury Goff?
And when was the last time Peter King got anything right about the draft? I haven't taken him seriously in 15 years.
