I think most people who promote that opinion don't even show that they get what the Rams offense IS under Fisher.
Is it a prerequisite to show understanding of exactly what the Rams offense is to make the observation that generally speaking, Fisher has bad offenses?
81 made two assertions that I agree with: Fisher doesn't get the full capabilities out of his players on offense and he is a horrific offensive coach.
Just to be clear in an informal poll type of way, is it your position that Fisher is a good coach on offense and as a general rule he extracts great production from his offensive players?
Is it a prereq to know what the offense is supposed to be and in fact is? To me? Yes. But on the other hand, that imposes no obligation on anyone else. So we're in the same position. I can't demand that anyone actually meet that prereq anymore than you can demand I not
have that prereq. It's just a thing I always say. Shrug.
Either way people don't have to win every sub-fight. They can go, okay, so, X is true, that's fine, and I still don't like Fisher anyway. I did that with Linehan in 2008. I said, the OL is one huge injury disaster, and you can't win like that, but I don't care, I don't like Linehan anyway.
My position on Fisher and the offense is that over the last 3 years it has been anywhere from damaged to limited by a rookie qb. And that under better conditions it will do better. I assume a lot of it is qb, and when Goff is up and functioning and less of a pure rookie, a lot of the issues we have with the offense will diminish, regardless of any other factor. (Not that it will be the GSOT, but it will be better than it currently is and good enough for the Rams to do better than 8-8) And that will be true no matter who the coach is.
