everything Goff did was fine...cept he made a bad throw(behind Quick).
Again---from former QB
""That is exclusively an experience issue. If you watch, he uses his entire body to look the defender to the left flat and then resets to throw behind that defender that he just looked off… which eventually led to a throw behind the receiver.
As Jared gets more comfortable with his left side look off, he’ll no longer need to use his legs and hips in that action. Matter of fact if he’s throwing the flat, he can just flick it, without any reset. Defenders will know that he has that ability when they see it on film, and a simple head twist will move them. So the fact he resets twice, is not a pressure thing…or happy feet thing…it’s an experience thing.
Also, as his under vision expands (which it will with reps), Jared will learn to slide ever so slightly to his right to avoid the oncoming pressure. That pressure should not alter throws since it’s not right at him, but only at his step leg since he’s throwing left. He’ll eventually pick up the clean lanes with some anticipation of pressure and strike this thing soon enough.
As I see it, it takes a minimum of 100 reps to get perfect feel for a route combination and it’s a bit different left as opposed to right. He’s maybe in the 30 – 50 for this stuff. And as one gets more experience…he’ll rip them. But on any given day, no one is perfect so he’ll have to maintain a high level for himself to strive to put it on the money.
The only thing I consistently see with Jared is when he throws “question marks”, they go high. I mean that if he is not 100% into the throw and has any doubt, the ball tends to sail on him. When he steps on the gas paddle on throws, the ball tends to sail. That will be a problem on throws over the middle, so he can’t throw timid and he can’t try to be muscle beach because the outcome is similar. That is where much of his focus should be, beside becoming overall physically stronger for his 2017 season.'
