People aren't reading tea leaves, they're using deductive reasoning.
They are using deductive reasoning, sure. But they are using the premise that Stan cares what the media thinks as the starting point for that reasoning, and I would suggest to you that Kroenke's complete shutdown of communication with the St. Louis media is Kroenke's MO, not an aberration.
Kroenke is not worried about the opinions of columnists and fans on an internet message board. So people are exercising great deductive reasoning, but their preliminary assumption may be incorrect.
