Not very shrewd to base a 2 year extension of what they thought might happen when they simply could have waited a few months, IMHO.
It's extremely rare that a head coach goes into the final season of his contract. That's lame duck status. With the team moving the only fair thing to do was extend him one more season or fire him before arriving in LA. That's what they did... what a non issue...
