Well, see, I actually think it's not the scheme or the "power-run" philosophy that's the problem. It's the coaching-up, the players, and/or the playcalling. The OL - and Gurley - stepped back this year. NO point leaving Fisher as the HC if you don't allow him to pick his top people. To me, that makes it likely that he picks an OC that subscribes to his basic philosophy. But if that's not the main problem, that's okay. If it's the playacting, and Fisher's fingerprints are on that, then let's pry those fingers off. Let the OC run the O as Williams runs the D. If it's players, let the OC choose the players he wants. I actually think the players are generally okay in terms of talent, but underperforming. I'm hopeful that playcalling can improve and they just might need some better position coaches.

But honestly, how to explain the pass-catching debacle we saw on Sunday? Sure, Brady is a much better QB than Goff. (It's also true that when Brady took his first snap in the system he's in, Goff was literally in kindergarten.) But imagine that Brady's receivers dropped all those balls and Goff's caught them? How about the PERFECT pass to Kendricks that became an int well into the Rams' side of the field? I can't chalk 7 drops up to playcalling or coaching.
