Harbaugh would be my choice and I think he's the favorite.
I don't think he will stay at Michigan long like some people think. He wants back in the NFL. Just needs the right situation and salary.
Rams can offer both.
If neither are an option, I don't know what they do. But Stan will want a big name, he'll offer full control, and he'll outbid anybody else. He usually gets what he wants.
Define "full control" for me, BigGame.
If that means final say on all personnel matters (like Fisher had), then I am vehemently opposed. Few HC's can handle that. The new guy needs to be focused on developing his players and supervising his assistants.
And fwiw, I'm not in favor of a Gruden hire, either. All hat, no cattle. He's perfect in his TV role, and he's happy there. He's not leaving.
Coughlin's time has come and gone, too.
I could learn to overlook Harbaugh's "jerkiness" because I think he would be an instant winner with this roster. And right now, I'm all about winning. Period.
But my preference would be a successful proven college HC. Saban, Meyer, Peterson types. Such coaches are proven CEO types that would instantly change the culture for the better around here. I would expect a winning season in the first year from such coaches. I'm sure there are others, but these are household names that should satisfy Kroenke's assumed desire for an icon type recognizable HC name.
Just my 2 cents, of course.
