I fully realize TEs are a year 2 position for impact for the most part. But given the quality of their wideouts, or lack thereof, I would have preferred they line him up wide and let him be a big target in the passing game. Limit his route tree to begin, and grow it as he grows. His hand and catch radius could have helped us out sooner IMO.
And I'm with you on Coop. I still expect him to help us out, but I think the QB position right now is not one that can best utilize smaller targets, as accuracy is critical with guys like him and Tavon. Hopefully as Goff moves into the job the targeting priority will start to shift as he is a clean slate for target preference.
