High Plains Drifter: "I don't believe that the Rams have an owner who loves football. I believe that Stan Kroenke loves being an owner of, well, anything big. So I'm trying to convince myself that I should have passion for a passionless football franchise. But I sure get envious when I watch some of these other teams play football the right way."
Grits: Oh? I believe we have an owner who believes in taking his time before making a decision. He thinks things through and doesn't jump to snap judgements and he tries to be fair to his employees and gives them rope.
But in your @#$%& rolls down hill scenario if you truly want to blame the current state of the Rams on its ownership then you need to take that time machine back to the person who owned the team before Kroenke. Sorry to spoil your rant but facts are facts. Lets go back to 1990 and the Rams had just lost the NFC Championship game to the 49ers. John Robinson was fired after the 1990 season and in 1994 Jim Everett was traded away to the New Orleans Saints. Like Jared Goff the Rams in 1986 under Frontiere traded multiple draft picks for the rights to Everett and then they traded him for a 7th round pick to the New Orleans Saints.
Rams trade Everett to Saints for 7th round pickMaybe Chuck Knox didn't like Everett I don't know.
From 1990 until 1998 the Rams were losers. So, the first 5 seasons the Rams were in STL they were losers. Who was the owner? Frontiere!
The same Frontiere who brought Kroenke on as a partner.
From 2005 until now the Rams have been losers. Who was the owner from 2005 until 2010? Frontiere and then Chip Rosenbloom. Chip who had no interest in being an NFL owner.
Kroenke immediately had one huge major project on his mind and we all know what that was as the team is in LA now. We all know Fisher's back ground as the only experienced NFL coach in regards to franchise moves.
We know what Fisher was really hired for. That is why it was said by many to not worry about Fisher's job because until the move was completed he was untouchable.
Well its done and now Fisher is subject to the same scrutiny all coaches are by their owners.
