It was Boras who needed the wake up call... ??? I mean when you go I. With a gameplan like that and the defense knows exactly what you are doing no offense is going to succeed.
The defense was more of an anomaly. Kelly had an off season to prep and it may have been a little difficult to gameplan on defense. Plus with almost no 3rd down conversions the defense was always on the field and and in a bad spot.
The good thing is that the players still seem to be disgusted by it. I know I am. But if it means them focusing better and motivating them, then it might have a silver lining... Just wish it wasn't the f'n niners. Barf.
