I mean the niners are I think last in the league defensively (yardage) and despite the gift goose egg the Rams handed them they are still averaging giving up 22 points a game.
And I do believe that the Rams are throwing the ball down the field more. So I do think Boras is trying to be more successful. I credit him for that.
But if you're telling me that the niners were the least bit surprised by what they saw then I don't buy it. I also don't buy that the niners gave the league a blueprint to shut the Rams offense down completely unless the Rams adjusted. And finally, I'm sure that they didn't have a supreme amount of confidence that they knew what was coming the on EVERY single play but I feel certain that they were pretty confident most of the time.
So, OK, I don't want to believe that the Boras had this great game plan that the niners low ranked defense somehow completely shut down and barely allowed a 3rd down conversion, let alone a single point,. without a very good idea of what was coming. I don't believe they are that much better.
I believe the niners had all off season to review tape... and what they saw was what they got. The Rams were who they thought they were and they had a great game plan against them and were able to execute it. I further believe that Boras went into the game with the same strategy that he used in the final game of the season last year against the very same niners... I also believe that for some reason it took the next game for him to start to adjust... I mean I don't WANT to believe that, but I don't see another scenario that makes more sense. Then again, you seem to see see some significant difference between what I am saying and what Demarco is saying and I don't.
