I guess I figure it will be both. He'll make plays when he's comfortable. And when he isn't, he'll break down. It's who he is.

But I guess the lesson is to avoid seeing him in simplistic terms as a bust. Virtually every Ram fan wanted him cut this PS. And that view was based on a clearly demonstrable reality: Brian Quick DOES CHOKE and has done so long enough for us to know he has choke in him.

But ...

He also DOESN'T CHOKE at times. This is not the first time he has "broken through" to make plays. He did it 2 years ago. (Am I getting my years right?) There is production to be had from him.

So, I would advise everyone to be very clear: BQ is BQ. He isn't going to "break through" and become a tough competitor. That will not happen. But, there is value there to be had.

You know what would be ideal? If he were paired with a fiery, tough competitor WR. I think BQ would make an excellent #2 if he had a tough guy to slipstream behind. You know, Britt is ALMOST that guy. Britt is a stronger personality, and BQ has happily followed in his wake. But, Britt is not a truly tough competitor himself. I don't think he is fragile. He is just inconsistent in asserting himself.

If we had a truly tough WR for BQ to pair with, we'd have something. Doesn't have to be an elite guy. Just has to be the sort of guy who can go out and catch 8-10 balls a game. I think BQ would do very well playing behind such a guy.
