Does anybody in their right mind think Bill Belichick would have made that call? Any top tier head coach?
It matters because it shows how lousy of a game manager he is. It tells me his coaching staff is weak...afraid to point out to Fisher that the move was major league boneheaded and the risk/reward most ZERO sense. It matters because it tells us what many of us realize, Jeff Fisher will make decisions to cause this team to lose. In a league where the differences between good and bad teams are razor thin, Jeff Fisher puts you on the losing side. He has some skill as a coach...just not as a head coach.
We won...but...if we would have lost, Jeff Fisher would have been the talk of sports radio from an NFL standpoint. I've read multiple articles that have stated there is NO justification to go for two. You can argue by say "if if if"...but we have seen our share of half time adjustments...clock management...strategy...
To put pressure on the kicker? How stupid does Fisher think we are? Well...some took the bait. Amazing.
The only place you find someone defending the call as plausible is here on this board. I'm beginning to wonder if certain people work in the Rams (lack of) organization.
I was all for hiring Jeff Fisher. Well...I'm all for firing him...but that won't happen as long as this team is near a .500 record.
