I don't necessarily believe the following but it would not surprise me in the least.

1. The Rams wanted to keep the gas on the excitement and draft a QB and do it with the 1st pick in the draft.

2. If the Rams had both QB's rated very close, then why not pour more gas on the fire with a Cal product?

3. It would not surprise me if Kroenke said, "Jeff, I will extend your contract, don't worry about trying to win with the rookie QB".

4. Kroenke views the real move complete with the new mega-stadium and has an eye locked on 2019 as the most important thing.

Again, I believe these things to be plausible but I don't think any of them are true.

1. Yes, Kreonke wanted to make a splash entering LA, wanted to be the headline and talk of the draft. Multiple sources have suggested this and their behavior in giving up more for a questionable 1st overall QB than almost anybody could believe, teasing the media for weeks before hand even though they knew all along who they were taking (Fisher admitted as much afterward) and milking the attention for all it was worth all supports this as more than just plausible.

2. Essentially correct. They liked Goff as a player, for more than just his blonde hair (LOL), but his California roots and persona and his big market media savy were a far better fit for Stan's dreams in Inglewood than the hick country boy form North Dakota. It's probable Wentz didn't really get a true objective shake in that process. Goff was always their guy even during the show they put on about continuing the evaluation process right up to the end, as again, Fisher let onto after the fact.

3. Fisher doing what pleases Kroenke is the only rational explanation for extension talks after 4 consecutive losing seasons. So yes, how he handled the Goff thing is more likely than not part of that.

4. This should actually be self evident.
