Asking Rams fans to be patient with Goff is borderline cruel

2003. That was the last year this franchise had a winning record in the regular season. Through this time we have seen a number of franchises reach their peak....fall to the bottom....then turn things around and get back to the top. Several others were already at their peak in 2003.....or made it for the first time since then...and continue to remain there today. Many of them accomplished this task by landing their QB of the future. And here we are.....looking around while the Bucaneers, TItans, and now the Eagles and Cowboys are rolling out their shiny new QB's, and are left wondering why ours remains on the sideline.

Winston aside, most all other QBs had four years in college (or five including redshirt years). Goff is coming off of three years (no redshirt) of college experience. As much as it pains me to admit it......he is severely lacking experience needed to come out of the gates firing as a top NFL QB (compared to most of the recently drafted NFL QB's. It only makes sense to be sure he has digested the league before he goes in at the starter. So, rather than compare Goff to the prevoiusly mentioned QB's....it's probably more fair to compare him to the QB's entering the draft in 2017 and 2018 (particularly those that will have four and five years experience). I would hate to say that a fair comparison can't be made until the 2018 season.....because no Ram fan wants to hear they need to wait two more years.

For the record.....I wanted Carson Wentz....but that's mostly because way back when (when Wentz looked like he might be picked around 10 - 15th in the first round....I was convinced he was going to land with the Rams....so I bought in. I'm the same guy that was hell bent on Justin Blackmon at WR....so what the heck do I know?

But now that we are stuck with Goff....I would just assume bring him along the right way. If Fisher needs to get fired along the way.....even better.
