Hi max,
By way of honest admission, I thought some of your past anti-Fisher posts were pretty harsh, but after last night's incredulous debacle at the hands of the NFC West cellar-dweller of 2015, the 49ers.....I am now okay with a Fisher departure. In my optimism, I had naively thought the NFL schedule-makers in New York had done us a big favor by letting us start out 2016 preying on a weakling team in our Division as a tune-up for the home opener against the Division tough guys....Seattle. My expectations were so high......I did not see how we could possibly lose to SF. Last night's comedy of Ram errors was shocking to this 50 year Rams fan and showed me that NO SIR....JEFF FISHER, IN FACT, DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING!!
I thought that Todd Gurley's AND Aaron Donald's major fouls were both driven by a sense of entitlement that Fisher's too-chummy and too-familiar "Players' Coach" style has fostered. So that's on Jeff Fisher.
Also, if you keep telling the sports media how great your players are (as Fisher constantly does)....guess what? It ends up going to their heads....witness Robert Quinn who clearly is no NFL sackmaster in 2016. There is a big chunk of Los Ramos Salary Cap wrapped up in mR. Quinn.....and the team is not getting the defensive performance commensurate to the salary being paid out. That is going to have to be corrected....cue Mssrs. Demoff and Snead!!
If I were Les Snead, I would be distancing myself from Jeff Fisher about now. It's called "Corporate Survival Instincts."
Finally, that stunt that Kenny Britt and Robert Quinn pulled last night during the anthem clearly shows that Fisher's control over his players has waned these last 18 months or so.
Anyway, I used to think that you were too hard on Fisher.....now I no longer do. Just thought you'd want to know that!
Best Regards,
Canuck
